My daughter got this as a present when she was five months old. Although it was beyond her at that point she was still able to manipulate the faucet and got quite a bit of enjoyment being propped up in her Bumbo beside it and turning the water on and off. As she began sitting up and moving about her interest continued and she has gradually learned to use all aspects of it except the shape sorter (she is twelve months old and is just beginning to show an interest in this).
From my perspective this has been an excellent toy because I see no likelihood that her interest will flag any time soon. She’s been playing with it continuously for seven months and the batteries are only starting to die now. Additionally, with so many settings it’s not as annoying as many other toys because when I get sick of the songs on one setting I can change it to another for a while.
I have just a few not very serious concerns. This product does tip very easily and several times when she was smaller my daughter cried because she was frightened when it fell on top of her. I also find it annoying that the garbage container comes on and off so easily. My daughter learned to take this on and off before she could crawl and it happened once or twice when she was about seven months old that she got her arm stuck in the hole while rolling on the floor playing with it. This led to shrieks of fear and pain. This hasn’t happened in a long time but I did actually take it away from her for about a month because of this issue. So because of this and the tipping issue I wouldn’t recommend this toy for babies that aren’t advanced enough to extricate themselves by picking up or shoving the entire toy away.
